Our project is about Inductive Power transfer. The concept of induction power transfer is similar to the functioning of a transformer. We have two coils, a primary and a secondary coil. In the primary side there will be a DC/AC converter; this is used to convert DC to AC with a very high frequency. When current is passed through the primary coil, a magnetic field is generated in the coil which is then induced into the secondary coil. The AC energy is then transferred to the secondary coil. The gap between the primary coil and the secondary coil is our coupling factor ‘k’. Depending on the number of turns of the secondary coil and the air gap, a smaller or larger current is induced and runs through it. The secondary coil is not physically or electrically attached to the primary and will therefore be moveable. Finally the AC energy will be converted in the secondary coil by an AC/DC converter to match the load parameters at the secondary side.
